Three young people from City College Peterborough are working with us on an important new project to help improve access to GP services for disabled people.

At this meeting we will be hearing about general adults service provision in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, including a forthcoming tender for adult home care.

At their Governing Body meeting last night, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Clinical Commissioning Group said how they were going to tackle the huge backlog of people waiting for Continuing Health Care Assessments.

Local health commissioners confirm that tongue tie services are available on the NHS in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. Plans to improve them are to be included in the local Better Births Plan for maternity services.

At this meeting we will be hearing from Paul Marshall, Cambridgeshire Sector Lead for the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST).

A successful launch event shows there is still much to do to achieve Accessible Information as Standard

Peterborough resident Peter Skivington has lent his support to Healthwatch’s campaign to help improve information given to disabled people.

At this meeting we will be talking about our Accessible Information as Standard report, published 8 November 2017.

Health and care services are not always offering people with sensory and learning disabilities information in a format they can understand. The law says that they must do this.
