On equal terms - Healthwatch Conference and AGM
Our annual conference and AGM is taking place online this year - and we will be taking a look at how the Covid pandemic has made it harder for some people to get the health and care they need or look after their health.
Especially older people, disabled people, carers and those with limited or no internet access.
And what we’ve done to try and support our communities and help health and care services work better for local people.
Followed by our Annual General Meeting and the presentation of our annual report.
Wednesday 21 July, 1:30 – 7:00 PM
Keynote speaker - Imelda Redmond, CBE, National Director of Healthwatch England
Imelda is passionate about championing patients’ needs and ensuring that their views are listened to. She’ll be talking about how Healthwatch across the country are tackling health inequalities and making sure people’s experiences help make health and care better.
Join our four workshops looking at:
- Online appointments – how they work and how patient feedback has helped improve them for patients and clinicians (such as doctors and therapists)
- Co-production – a way of involving people in developing the health and care services they use, so services work better for people
- Digital exclusion – this is about lack of access to information and services for people without internet access. We talk about what it means and how we’re helping to tackle it locally
- Staying independent – how technology enabled care is helping people to stay independent in their own homes for longer
Guest presenters include: Lois Sidney and David Lee from the SUN Network and Gary Lee from Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust
The workshops will also be supported by the Independent Members of the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Partnership Boards who’ll be helping to run the sessions.
There’ll be planned breaks and opportunities for you to ask questions and share your experiences. You are welcome to come along to the whole meeting, or you can come to the workshops and sections you are most interested in.
This event will be British Sign Language Interpreted.
