Have your say on the future of Healthwatch in Cambridgeshire

The future of Healthwatch in Cambridgeshire is changing, and local people are being invited to help shape what comes next. Cambridgeshire County Council is hosting a series of public events to hear from anyone who has used, worked with or supported Healthwatch, as well as those with an interest in local health and social care. Find out why these conversations matter and how you can get involved.

People are being invited to take part in a series of public engagement events to help shape the future of Healthwatch in Cambridgeshire.

Cambridgeshire County Council is hosting the events following the introduction of the Government's proposed NHS Modernisation Bill. The Bill includes proposals to change the way patient and public feedback is gathered across England and the future role of local Healthwatch services.

As the commissioner of Healthwatch Cambridgeshire, the Council wants to hear directly from people about their experiences of the service, what has worked well and what could be improved for the future.

Why your views matter

Healthwatch exists to ensure that the voices of patients, service users, carers and local communities are heard by the organisations responsible for planning and delivering health and social care services.

Whether you've shared your experiences with us, used our information and signposting service, attended one of our events, volunteered with Healthwatch or simply have an interest in the future of health and care services, your views can help inform future arrangements.

Although these engagement events are focused on Healthwatch Cambridgeshire, they are also relevant to people across Peterborough. Healthwatch Cambridgeshire and Peterborough works across both local authority areas, and any future national changes to Healthwatch are likely to have wider implications for how patient and public voice is represented across our communities.

Have your say

These events are an opportunity to reflect on the impact Healthwatch has had in Cambridgeshire, discuss what has worked well and consider how patient and public voice should be represented in the future.
