Christmas message from our Healthwatch

On behalf of the staff and Board here at Healthwatch, we would like to wish all our supporters a very happy Christmas.
Healthwatch Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Chair, Stewart Francis

To everyone who has shared their experiences of care, given their valuable time to volunteer or acted on the feedback we’ve received in the past year, we would like to say thank you – your support and contributions enable us to be a champion for local people.

Most of all, we want to convey our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to everyone working in hospitals, care homes, GP practices and the many other vital services. Their tireless efforts, often under difficult circumstances keep us safe and well.

Once again, it has been an extremely challenging year for health and care services and, inevitably, patients, service users and their families have been affected by these systemic pressures. Sadly, we face another winter where access to services will be impacted by growing waiting lists for hospital and community care treatments, coupled with a continuing cost of living crisis.

Despite these issues, we will continue to listen and work hard alongside the Integrated Care System, partner organisations and stakeholders on behalf of our local communities to amplify their voices, particularly those that are not currently being heard. In this way, we hope to make a positive difference to the planning and running of services.

2023, our tenth year, has seen Healthwatch Cambridgeshire and Peterborough make continued progress in this regard through our engagement and project work, and we have provided hundreds of people with helpful information and advice.

Our commitment to these efforts will remain at the heart of our work in 2024, as we share your views with decision makers and champion the issues that matter most to you.

A message from our Chair Stewart Francis on behalf of the whole Healthwatch team.
